It seems like Tee Grizzley took off out of nowhere through “First Day Out,” the single which officially put him on the map. If you ask him how he did it, he truly doesn’t know. He wrote the track and never expected it to take off and he visited The Breakfast Club to talk about this and more with DJ Envy and Angela Yee. In their conversation, Tee speaks on why he went to jail in Kentucky for a Smash and Grab, why he started taking rap serious, how much life has changed since he got out of jail. He also touched on the Detroit hip hop scene and mumble rap.
If you haven’t heard about the story of Tee Grizz, this would be a good starting point. We would have wanted to hear a bit more about the songs on his My Moment album, what’s good with more DJ Mustard music and why he hasn’t dropped videos for “Overlapped” or “Country.”
